Always Tired
Feeling tired all the time despite 'enough' sleep is one of the most common — and most solvable — complaints. The answer usually lies in sleep quality, consistency, or accumulated sleep debt.
It's not only about hours
You can spend eight hours in bed and still wake up exhausted. Time in bed isn't the same as restorative sleep. Fragmented sleep, poor timing, and low sleep quality all leave you tired regardless of the number on the clock.
Sleep debt
If you consistently sleep even 30–60 minutes less than you need, the deficit accumulates as 'sleep debt.' A week of losing an hour a night is like pulling an all-nighter — and you often can't feel how impaired you are, because your baseline has quietly shifted.
Improving quality
To wake up genuinely rested, protect the quality and continuity of your sleep:
- Keep a consistent sleep and wake schedule
- Keep the room cool, dark, and quiet to minimize micro-wakings
- Cut caffeine after early afternoon and alcohol in the evening
- Get morning light to strengthen your day-night rhythm
- Make sure your pillow and bedding actually support comfortable sleep
When to get checked
Persistent fatigue despite good sleep habits can signal an underlying issue — sleep apnea, thyroid problems, anemia, or other conditions. Loud snoring, gasping, or unrefreshing sleep especially warrant a medical evaluation. Please see a doctor; Restore is educational and can't diagnose.
